18 May Take Pregnant and Parenting Youth Survey by May 31, 2012
ICAH fellow TeeNeka Jones, who is also an Illinois Early Childhood Fellow working at Health and Disability Advocates, is engaged with a Participatory Research project to survey young parents’ experiences in accessing public benefit programs. She has worked as a Parent Educator within the Chicago Public School system, serving pregnant and parenting teen mothers.
During Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month, ICAH hopes you will take the survey she has created for pregnant and parenting youth and also help pass it along to others to complete.
TeeNeka can be contacted directly via email for a paper copy of this survey. However, an online version of the survey is available at this link.
With this project, TeeNeka hopes to identify gaps in services and systemic barriers that limit access and also identify patterns of consistency.
This survey will help inform a resource tool for teen parents to help facilitate and increase their understanding of large systems so they may navigate them better.
Please take the survey today!
