We encourage your participation to help ensure another successful conference.
ICSHC strives to improve the physical and mental health of children and adolescents in Illinois by fostering the development, stabilization and expansion of school health centers (SHCs). Partnering this year with ICAH, the conference will address the urgent health needs of Illinois youth by promoting a positive approach to sexual health issues. As experts in the field of adolescent health advocacy, ICAH will contribute a unique approach to this year’s theme, with the understanding that SHC’s offer one of the best environments for supporting the health of our youth and implementing meaningful change.

WHAT IS HB 3027?
The Accurate Sexual Health Education Bill provides that if an elementary or secondary public school offers sex education or sexual health education, the education must be medically accurate and developmentally and age appropriate and must include instruction regarding the benefits of delaying or abstaining from sexual activity. The bill would require school districts to make curriculum and course materials available for viewing upon request and provides that a pupil must be excused for any part of the instruction at the written request of his or her parent or guardian.
