Growing up and working in underserved communities has made Nataly aware of the unique obstacles and limited resources available in communities of color. It is those experiences that have shaped her desire to be an agent of change. Nataly has worked for several years with diverse communities in the non-profit sector. She has extensive experience in education equity and economic justice issues, direct service youth work, and community organizing. She is eager to bring about long-term systemic change and is excited to contribute to ICAH’s work.
Before joining ICAH, Nataly served as a senior policy associate at Women Employed. Her previous roles include community engagement associate at Illinois Action for Children and site coordinator and substance abuse prevention supervisor at Chicago Commons. Nataly Barrera holds a Masters in Social Work from Loyola University with a certificate in Philanthropy and a Bachelors degree from Carleton College.
