22 Aug Celebrating 39 Years of Youth-Adult Partnerships
ICAH’s Board of Directors hosted ICAH’s 39th Birthday Party on Saturday, August 6, to celebrate 39 years of youth-adult partnerships. Pork & Mindy’s kindly provided us with a fabulous venue to celebrate our ICAH family! The event was well attended by ICAH youth, adult allies, staff, and board members, and we are so thankful to everyone that purchased raffle tickets and food to benefit ICAH.
Words cannot express how much it means to the Board to support ICAH’s youth development programs, but here’s a testimony from Board Member Yoselyn Ovalle about her experience at the event:
I’m an alumni from ICAH’s Youth Leadership Council, known as CHAT now. ICAH’s 39th birthday was a great time for me to reconnect with youth leaders. I was thrilled to hear they were off to college in a couple weeks. Not to mention, the majors and classes they are planning on taking sound exciting and filled with social justice components. Through their stories, I could hear the positive influence ICAH has had in their lives, which they will take to college. After hearing their stories, youth-led everyone in singing Happy Birthday for ICAH, which I found only fitting. Now, I can’t wait to see what happens for their 40th birthday!
If you were unable to make it to ICAH’s Birthday Party but would like to support our organization, please consider joining our AIDS Walk team or making a contribution!
